Job Description

A high energy, results oriented, hands-on leader who, as a senior member of the Zaytuna College management team, can develop and execute marketing programs with a particular focus on multi-year fundraising.

Reports to: Vice President of Operations and Administration

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate creative and effective comprehensive marketing and communications strategies with an emphasis on student recruitment and development. These strategies must include all aspects of marketing, including awareness, positioning and tactical programs, and be directed to all Zaytuna constituents, including potential students, parents, local, national & international Muslim communities, relevant academia, press, and local civic leaders.
  • Develop a multi-year, multi-million dollar development initiative that focuses on operating and endowment programs and features strategies for individual donations, membership drives, major gifts, corporate and foundation funds, and planned giving across the world. Must:
      a. Develop a global membership program for monthly donors;
      b. Build relationships and pursue major donors;
      c. Develop and direct annual giving programs, major gifts, planned giving, family giving, and all endowment campaigns;
      d. Pursue grants/gifts from foundations, corporations, and other institutional donors;
      e. Build an effective fundraising & marketing team;
      f. Communicate vision to all constituents – including donors, alumni, faculty, staff, students and the public – to motivate them to participate & give

Job Qualifications

  • An MBA or related degree (master's degree in non-profit management, marketing, business, or a related field)
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively; excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with people
  • Previous development/fundraising/finance experience
  • Must possess a drive to achieve the enrollment and development goals of Zaytuna College
  • A demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement marketing and development including the ability to envision and articulate future direction
  • Demonstrate proven success in personally identifying, cultivating, and soliciting seven and eight-figure gifts
  • Develop a team approach to planning and coordination of programs and personnel
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
