Healing the Heart and Soul

The Month of the Qur’an

We welcome Ramadan with its days of restraint and nights of devotion. Our community longs to return to the Book of Allah in a profound way, seeking guidance and salvation in a time when, increasingly, we find ourselves as strangers in the world. Though the signs of the impending Hour manifest before us, the anxiety and melancholy in our hearts find repose in the final guidance left to us by our Creator through the perfect example of God’s Last and Most Beloved of Messengers, the Chosen One ﷺ.

One of the immense secrets of the Qur’an lies in its healing, which is both restorative and transformative. Allah tells us that the Book is “a healing for what is in the hearts, and guidance and mercy for the believers” indicating a remarkable medicinal effect upon serious readers. The common diagnoses of humanity’s ailments are brought to life through stories of those before us, and the remedies quickly follow along with warnings of what will befall those who fall into the same heedlessness.

Our most brilliant scholars wrote tomes of commentary and yet could never exhaust the meanings of God’s speech that transcend time and place. The divine words gift us with an eternal wisdom that heals all ailments--whether spiritual, physical, or societal—if only we open ourselves up to receive it and listen with an attentive ear and receptive heart.

Build a Legacy this Ramadan

Learn more about supporting a capital project.

The Heart of Our Campus

In this video, join Ustadh Feraidoon Mojadedi to visit the Zaytuna College musalla. This new project is a central place for students, faculty, and staff to come together and pray the daily prayers in jama’ah, as the Holy Prophet ﷺ urged us to. This blessed place is a sanctuary from the world, from which the call to prayer crosses the campus. We’re delighted to share this milestone with you and need your support to finish this project.

Online Learning at Zaytuna

Filmed in Zaytuna’s new on-campus studio, President Hamza Yusuf introduces the College’s new online learning initiative with an overview of the objectives and preview of forthcoming courses. The studio was generously endowed by the Saleh family, in honor of the late Medhat Toufic Saleh.

Campus Beautification

Islam calls us to beauty, whether in our prayers and devotions, the meals we cook, the clothes we adorn, or the crafts we undertake. It is this legacy of beauty that brought countless individuals to embrace Islam, enraptured by the perfect example of God’s Chosen One ﷺ. No one reflects divine beauty more than the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and by his command, we must strive to be that beauty mark amongst humanity: a vessel of truth, goodness, and beauty that can revive the barren hearts yearning for divine illumination.
