Zaytuna’s campus is on Holy Hill and students enter the College as part of a cohort, a community of learners that travel together through the curriculum.

Funds Overview

“Who is he that will lend God a good loan, and He will multiply it for him manifold?”
(Qur’an 2:245)

Your Gift is a Sacred Trust

At Zaytuna College, we take the stewardship of gifted funds as a sacred trust and work diligently to ensure that every dollar is spent responsibly on its intended purpose. Below are the current operating funds of the College and the details of their dispersal and utilization. For any questions or feedback on our fund restrictions, please email us at give@zaytuna.edu.

College Fund

This unrestricted fund directly supports our academic programs and is primarily directed toward the following: student housing, meals, the sunna sports program, textbooks, and administrative staff.

Zakat Fund

This fund serves as the basis of our financial aid program and is utilized to cover the total cost of educating a zakat-eligible student. Read our zakat policy.

Scholarship Fund

This fund serves as the basis of our merit-aid program; academically eligible students may apply each academic year to receive partial or full scholarship awards as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Capital Fund

The capital fund is restricted to projects related to the College’s campus expansion, renovation, and beautification.

Endowment Fund

The endowment fund is a restricted fund invested in a sharia-compliant manner, whereby a percentage of the annual returns supports the academic and operational expenses of the College. Currently, we have three main endowment fund options:

  • General Endowment: The general endowment or college fund utilizes a percentage of accrued funds for the College’s operating expenditures.

  • Endowed Scholarship Fund: This fund utilizes a percentage of the accrued funds exclusively for student scholarships and is awarded to eligible students by the Office of Financial Aid.

  • Faculty Support Endowment: This fund utilizes a percentage of the accrued funds for salaries, benefits, research, and publications and to hire support staff for our core faculty members.
